This variety of Artistry Coffee is ethically selected and roasted by Redemption Roasters.
A silky smooth body with chocolate and a mild nuttiness linger after the notes of redcurrant, plum and cherry jump to the fore early on - with a tang of lime-citrus activity.
The quality of the processing help to produce the best flavour experience. It is organised via the Mageyo Washing Station in Bujumbura in Burundi - part of the Akawa project. Close to 1,000 farmers are part of the initiative that was launched to help create fair and stable supply chains. The financial risk of the coffee producers is mitigated by an upfront flat fee prior to the harvest to ensure access to resources for a productive harvest. Training in good crop management practices and UTZ certification is also provided. QC processes post-harvest ensure the quality of coffee which is then transported to Nairobi for storage in a cooler climate to preserve the quality.
MULTI-BUY discounts are available when you buy more than 1 bag of coffee - mix and match across the beans too. Add to your cart and review the discount!
Redemption Roasters commenced operations in Aylesbury Young Offenders Prison with a mission to help reduce re-offending rates by skilling up the young people to help them find jobs and reintegrate into society. They are trained in competition-level barista skills.
The project has now expanded to 9 prisons and now also has an enlarged roastery facility in HMP The Mount near Hemel Hempstead.
Small batches of beans are expertly roasted led by a Head Roaster and Assistant Roaster who also train professional roasting skills. So not only is the coffee ethically sourced but the roasting process is socially responsible too.
